George V leather vanity case with sterling silver vanity pieces

Levi & Salaman

$729.00

This vanity case contains all the containers and tools an elegant traveller in the early twentieth century might require. It is amazing how many pieces are contained within it and there is still plenty of room for additional items for the modern traveller. There are 15 items in the case, all of the white metal items other than the scissors are hallmarked sterling silver. There are three spaces that are empty suggesting a few items have been lost over time. The silver was made by celebrated maker Levi and Salaman and assayed in Birmingham. The majority were assayed in 1917, but one item dates to 1915. They are all of the same engine turned design, and have vacant cartouches in case a future owner wishes to have them personalised. There is a bit of damage to the purple interior commensurate with age and use but the case itself and the items within it are in fantastic condition.

Please look closely at the photographs as they form part of the description and get in touch if you have any questions at all.
