Pair of Danish candleholders - Per Lütken for Holmegaard - 1960s

This superb pair of Danish mid century modern candleholders was designed by celebrated glassmaker Per Lütken for Holmegaard in the 1960s. The are heavy and therefore very stable. The design curves from above and below making them look as though they are floating just above the surface and creating a flying saucer shape that feels so appropriate to the period but executed with the refined simplicity associated with Scandinavian design. Both are signed Holmegaard with the design number 18361 and Lütken’s initials. They have some very minor surface scratches that are unfortunately beyond my skill to photograph but no chips, cracks or repairs.
