Masons Ironstone Regency Tea for two set
Masons
$175.00
There is something so cheerful about Masons ironstone china. I think it is the combination of transfer printed design in blue highlighted with hand painted details in green, yellow, and pinky red. This pattern is the Regency design which features a floral arrangement with an unusual quirky creature that I believe is meant to be a bird - but seems more insect to me. The set features a small teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl and saucer and two trios - the cup is a smaller demitasse size and there is also an octagonal cake plate. It would be lovely on display or for everyday use. The back stamp suggests the set was produced around 1940. There is some age related crazing and minor surface staining consistent with age and use to one of the saucers and the inside of the teapot, but no chips, cracks or repairs. For me the crazing only adds to the charm with old pieces like this that have a strong sense of history.
