Sovereign Native Timbers Two Person Cribbage Board

There are hours of fun to be had with this vintage Sovereign two player cribbage board. It is made of native New Zealand wood. It is a fabulous piece of retro kiwiana and is in very good condition.  It is marked Sovereign and includes a full list of the timbers featured. Impressively the four pegs (2 red and 2 green) are still present and contained inside the board. It would be perfect for holiday games in the bach or at the camp ground.

Whanganui-based firm Sovereign Woodworkers Ltd produced a wide range of wooden wares highlighting the beauty of our native timber. It was established in 1949 by Austin Brasell, Arnold (Arnie) Burling and Wyn Hart. The firms heyday was the 1960s and it remained popular throughout the 1970s, eventually closing in 1992. They produced a vast range of products including trays, pencil cases, coffee tables, bowls, ashtrays, 21st birthday keys, rulers, book ends and picture frames.
