Charlotte Rhead, Tulip Pattern Bowl/Quaich, Bursley Ware

Charlotte Rhead (1885 - 1947) was one of the great British art deco ceramic designers. She was renowned for her use of the tube-lining technique and the raised outlines you can feel in the surface of the work served as guides in colouring the pieces. This Bursley Ware piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, with only very minor age appropriate wear to the glaze around the rim. It is a really unusual shape - quaich-like in form and hard to find.
