Victorian Treen Powder Jar c.1850

It really is a joy to hold this piece of history in your hands. This Victorian treen powder jar has been held by generations. It is incredibly smooth with rich patina. It dates to around 1850 and it is in great condition. I love the ingenious notched mechanism that allows it to open and close tightly. It could be used to hold a wide range of items, but beyond its utility, it is just a wonderful survivor that deserves to be appreciated for many generations to come.
