Sterling silver and mother of pearl rattle and teething ring - Birmingham 1902
Arthur Johnson Smith
$159.00
We all want to give our children the world in one way or another - back in 1902 someone succeeded beautifully with this rattle and teething ring. As is often the case with small representations of the globe, New Zealand doesn’t make the cut but Australia is present. The mother of pearl teething ring is in excellent condition. The globe-form bell has a few minor dents consistent with age. It was assayed in Birmingham and made by jeweller Arthur Johnson Smith. This little treasure would be a lovely gift for a new addition to your family - though perhaps not for teething given it is 124 years old. It is a rare form as I have found nothing similar.
