Britain in Pictures, Collins, London, 1943-46
$27.00
This group of four bright and cheery titles is from the Britain in Pictures series. They were designed as a morale booster and record of English life and culture during the dark days of World War II. These Collins publications began in 1941 and 132 titles were produced in total, each by an expert in their field. I was immediately drawn to the bold colours and simple elegant design of their covers. The contents within are equally delightful. These four date from 1943 to 1946. All still have their dust jackets and are in good condition overall. There is some minor foxing and age related wear to all and a small stain on the edge of some pages in Wild Flowers in Britain. They are available as a set for NZ$95 or individually for NZ$27, please make your selection from the drop down menu.
Please look closely at the photographs as they form an important part of the description. If you are based in Wellington, free delivery is available in the central, southern and eastern suburbs, or for $5 in the northern and western suburbs. If you would like further information, please get in touch directly (contact@eldercroftandsons.co.nz).
