Aynsley Cabbage Rose Dish Hand Painted by J. A. Bailey

These hand painted mid-century Aynsley pieces by talented artist Joseph A. Bailey are extremely sought after. Of all the known artists employed by Aynsley, Bailey's work at the company (1937-1974) is in the highest demand. He was particularly well known for painting flower patterns including the cabbage rose design. This lovely dish was made in 1951 and is a great intermediate size. The lobed shape is very elegant and the gilding is in perfect condition. It is signed by the artist. There are two very small surface scratches that are not at all noticeable but I like to ensure every possible flaw is identified. They have been photographed with extreme magnification but they really are minor.
