Victorian horn and tortoiseshell snuff box

This antique snuff box is made of horn and tortoiseshell. It fits perfectly in your hand and would be a lovely addition to a collection. It dates from the nineteenth century when sniffing pulverised tabacco was still in style. It has survived well, other than some scratches to the inside of the lid that seem to be purposeful rather than accidental. It could easily be repurposed to hold small treasures.
