Royal Stafford Exotic Bird Trio (1917-1929)

The trade name 'Royal Stafford' was introduced by Thomas Poole a manufacturer of china, earthenware and majolica at the Cobden Works, in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England in the early 1900s. Some sources give as early as 1900 and others 1906-7. This delightful exotic bird pattern trio dates to the early twentieth century and features the backstamp used between 1917 and 1929. The transferware pattern has been beautifully hand painted with an array of colours. It is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or crazing and only minor areas of wear. It would be beautiful on display or a lovely set to use daily.
