Rimu lidded vessel with contrasting finial made by Brian Arthurs, Otaki

I’m in awe of the skill it would take to create a piece like this - the lid fits perfectly, the shape is so elegant and the darker wood of the finely turned finial contrasts beautifully with the rimu body of this handmade lidded vessel. It is signed JBA, Otaki, NZ to the base with the number 860. It is the work of Brian Arthurs, who is now in his 90s and is no longer woodturning but is a distinguished life member of the Kapiti Woodturners Guild.
