These elegant Cauldon coffee cans and saucers can be dated to 1910-20 by a combination of the backstamp and pattern identification code. The neoclassical design combines a deep cobalt blue enamel band overlaid with a heavy gilt Greek key border and central gold rosettes. I particularly love the deep saucers. Antique Cauldon china is sought after for its exceptional craftsmanship, fine bone china quality, and limited production eras. It was made in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Original pieces like these marked "Cauldon Ltd" were produced for a brief and exclusive period between 1904 and 1920 at the Cauldon Place works. This limited manufacturing window makes authentic early pieces harder to find. Cauldon produced luxury tableware and custom commissions for high-end retailers and institutions, including Tiffany & Co. in New York. Following a Royal Appointment by King George V in 1930, the company rebranded as Royal Cauldon.

These three demitasse duos are in excellent condition and are available singularly or as a set. Please use the drop down Option menu to select your preference. An espresso in one of these would be the perfect way to get your morning coffee fix. Please get in touch with any questions (contact@eldercroftandsons.co.nz). Delivery is always available in Wellington. It is free in the central, southern and eastern suburbs and a flat fee of $5 for any number of items for the northern and western suburbs.
