Stunning Art Deco silver compact - black enamel with engraved floral design on 935 silver

This truly stunning Art Deco powder compact pairs bold black enamel with a finely engraved design of flowers and foliage on 935 continental silver. It was most likely made in Austria and it is in wonderful condition. It was made for high end luxury goods purveyor Caressa founded in London in 1932 by Mr H Michel. The fact that this fabulous piece, dating to the 1930s, still contains its original mirror, mesh sifter and leather backed powder puff is remarkable. It is quite large with a diameter of 95mm and opens and closes with ease. There are some faint surface scratches to the black enamel but nothing significant to note.
