Looking Forward: Stories for Boys, Thames Publishing Company, 1940s/1950s

This vintage title featuring stories for boys still has its dist jacket, which has provided some protection for the book. It has an inscription the original owners. Like many children's books in this era, it is undated but it dates from the 1940s or early 1950s. Its charming illsutrations are the work of Horace C. Gaffron (1896–2000), who was a Scottish-born painter and illustrator known for his work in magazines, including Good Housekeeping during the 1930s and 1940s as well as children's books like this one. There are eight colour illustrations as well as additional black and white illustrations. It has wear consistent with age and use but is in good condition overall.
