This lovely Shelley Art Deco era cake or sandwich plate features the 'Peaches and Grapes' pattern on their Queen Anne shape. The black and grey transferware design features foliage and enameled peaches and grapes. I love the combination of colours and the way they shine against the restrained white, black and grey background. This elegant design features integrated handles. The condition is very good overall but there appears to be one small and minor firing flaw to the plate surface.

Shelley China was a renowned English pottery manufacturer, known for its high-quality, lightweight fine bone china, operating in Staffordshire from the 1860s until 1966. Originating from Wileman & Co. (The Foley Potteries), it officially became Shelley in 1910, gaining fame for Art Deco designs and popular tea ware. Its Art Deco designs are particularly collectable.

Please look closely at the photographs as they form an important part of the description.
