Wedgwood Black Jasperware Pill Box with Gilded Sphinx 1979

There is something so elegant about Wedgwood’s black jasperware and this small pill box with its gilded sphinx is truly a delight. Made in 1979, and still in excellent condition, this would be a wonderful addition to a Wedgwood collection. These Egyptian-inspired Wedgwood pieces were introduced during the international touring exhibition the Treasures of Tutankhamun, which toured the globe from 1972-1981. This early blockbuster exhibition sparked a wave of pop-culture fascination with Egyptian culture. It is in excellent condition.
